About Us
About Duncan:
'I’m a believer.
Let me qualify that...
I’m not a believer in organised religion but I think humanity is special, by virtue of the gift of consciousness.
I see morality as objective and outside humanity.
Our tiny ape brains can’t possibly understand the depths of the universe and our place in it.
(I can see Gemma’s eye’s rolling at each of these points which she thinks are easily answered).
This opens the door for much philosophising..and coffee drinking!'
Favourite Coffee?
A Flat White - Specifically sipping it flat in New Zealand (home of the flat white), looking out over the South Pacific Ocean, with my mate who I’ve not seen for 18 months.
Book recommendation?
Brave New World, Aldus Huxley
About Gemma:
'Im not a believer.
I approach life guided by reason and evidence.
I find meaning through human connection, rational thinking and our own personal responsibility.
I observe morality to be a of human emotion and reason, evolutionary originated to promote group survival and to work in tandem with our societal norms.
The truth is best pursued through inquiry, not belief.'
Favourite coffee?
Cortado - A small Spanish strong coffee; equal parts espresso and milk (this means you must order at least 3).
